HISTORY
The
"Ensemble Vocal de
Roanne" was created in 1949 by Félix-Pierre FORNAS.
Since
1981 it has been directed by Mrs Florence BLANCHARD,
a former member of the Choir of soloists belonging to the National
Orchestra of Lyons, directed by Bernard Tétu.
Every year the "Ensemble Vocal de
Roanne" organises a concert (choir and orchestra). It also took various
international
exchanges
with foreign
choirs and performed in concerts abroad in Germany, Spain and Greece.
Composed of about one hundred singers,
it is the largest choir in the Loire department.

It took
part in various
national or internatinal choir competitions organised by
the French Musical Federation where the choir
reached the highest level of quality and
interpretation for an amateur choir in 1995,
a rank which was confirmed in June 2000,
when the Ensemble Vocal was awarded the
First Prize of Honour in Bourbon-Lancy.
Then
in Mai 2004, the choir was awarded the High Prize of Honour
in Forbach.
